End of Year Rewards Trips – Declaration of Interest
Monday 21st July 2025
Dear Parent/Carer,
As we approach the end of the academic year, we are pleased to share our plans for the End of Year Rewards Trips, which are scheduled to take place on Monday 21st July 2025. These trips are designed to recognise and reward students who have demonstrated consistently positive conduct and maintained good attendance throughout the year.
At this stage, we are asking for expressions of interest only, in order to determine the feasibility of each trip and to confirm appropriate transport arrangements, including the number of seats required on coaches.
We are currently considering the following trips:
- Chester Zoo – Estimated cost: £13.75
- Blackpool Pleasure Beach – Estimated cost: £24.00
- Trafford Centre (Year 10 only) – Estimated cost: £5.00
Please note:
- The Trafford Centre trip is available exclusively to Year 10 students, where there is an understanding from parents/carers that their child will be able to navigate the Trafford Centre with their friends, with clearly outlined meeting spots to check in with staff. Ideas for what your child can do on the day can be found by clicking this link The Trafford Centre – Trafford Centre
- Year 10 students do have a choice of all trips.
- These trips are part of our rewards programme, and the school is subsidising transport costs to help keep costs as low as possible for families.
- Participation is not automatic and is based on a clear set of criteria.
- Those students who are free school meals and have any remaining money from their assigned £100 voucher, can use this to fund the trip.
We are committed to acknowledging:
- Students who have consistently demonstrated positive behaviour, as reflected in their house points.
- Students whose attendance has not been a cause for concern.
However, we would like to emphasise that not meeting the school’s 96% attendance target does not automatically exclude a student. We understand that absences can arise for genuine and unavoidable reasons, and exceptional circumstances will always be considered. Persistent unauthorised absences, however, may affect a student’s eligibility.
Importantly, we also value and encourage improvement. Students who have made noticeable progress in their attendance or behaviour will also be considered. We want to ensure that all students have the opportunity to show their commitment and effort during the remainder of the summer term.
To help us with planning, please indicate which trip your child would wish to attend using the following form: https://forms.office.com/e/62rCrDi0vy by Wednesday 7th May. This will allow us to assess demand and finalise arrangements.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours faithfully,
Mr J Leonard
Deputy Headteacher
