The History department at Sir Thomas Boteler are a triad of passionate and enthusiastic educators who share a passion of making History an enjoyable and highly relevant part of young people’s education.

We believe that the study of History enables young people to develop their abilities to analyse evidence from the past, consider the significance of past individuals and events and form well reasoned judgments about them. It also enables young people to understand the world today and prepares them for their future careers and aspirations.

History is highly respected amongst employers, universities and colleges/apprenticeships alike because they believe historians are rigorously examined and have highly developed skills that are applicable for further study and in the workplace.
