Our House System

Every student and member of staff who attends Sir Thomas Boteler Church of England High School is a member of a ‘house’. The houses are made up of all students from Year 7 through to the Year 11.

The House system is a long standing tradition that creates competition, promotes good work and behaviour, encourages teamwork, provides opportunities to take on responsibilities and brings everyone in the school together.

By being a member of the house family, students and staff are encouraged to show team spirit as all of the houses will thrive on the ethos of “taking part counts”.

The Head of House are Year 11 students. In year 10 they apply in writing to the Head teacher and have to complete an interview with a panel which includes the Headteacher,  an assistant Headteacher and members of the school council. Once selected they then lad House assemblies, competitions and work closely with their house captains from each tutor group.
