Our Hero Isaac

We are exceptionally proud of our Year 7 student Isaac King.

Isaac has received the Chief Scout’s Unsung Hero award from Chief Scout Bear Grylls, at the Bear Grylls Adventure Centre in Birmingham. Isaac received the award for fundraising for the RNLI, something he has been doing since the age of 8. He has drawn pictures of lifeboats to sell to his primary school teachers, family and friends, climbed Snowden, baked cakes, hosted fish suppers and completed a 133 mile walk (distance between Morecambe and Whitby Lifeboat Stations) amongst other things. His total amount raised so far is over £30,000.

Headteacher Mrs Scott-Herron commented: “We are so incredibly proud of Isaac. To achieve the Unsung Hero award speaks volumes of who Isaac is and how he does things on a daily basis. It is amazing he has taken a cause like the RNLI, something he feels passionately about, to raise funds for and to help make a difference. The Boteler family values run through everything he does and he is definitely our hero too.“ Mrs Scott-Herron awarded Isaac the Headteacher’s Award on the last day of term.
