Dear Parent / Carer,

Modern Foreign Language Exams Summer 2026

The real French and Spanish speaking exams are taking place on the following dates after the Easter break:

· Wednesday 22nd April – French

· Friday 24th April – French

· Wednesday 29th April – Spanish

I will confirm the dates and times for each individual student once the testing period has opened which will be from Thursday 2nd April. The exams take place during the school day and will be conducted by the class teacher.

It is essential that your child prepares thoroughly for this exam as it constitutes 25% of their overall grade for French / Spanish. To prepare, your child has a speaking booklet in which they have written answers to questions that may be asked in the exam. There will also be some unprepared questions.

Students must understand what the question in their booklet means and be able to give a developed response which contains 3 pieces of information.
