18th October 2013:

The Year 7 football team continue to go from strength to strength. Following on from last weeks draw against a strong Culcheth team, confidence continues to grow after a resounding 16-2 win against University Academy Warrington. Man of the match, Liam Blackburn, stole the show with 7 goals in an outstanding display of finishing.

Oliver Anderson finished with 4 goals, with Reece Peever, Alexander Spencer, Ellis Rigby, Nasir Rashid and Dean Beddall all getting on the score sheet. Year 9 ran out 4-0 winners with goals from Joe Horton (2), Harry Jenks and Adrian Ferrer, with the Year 11 team on the wrong end of a 5-1 score line.

16th October saw our Year 7, 8 and 11 play against strong Lymm teams.

Year 7 needed the win to cement a top 2 position but unfortunately came up short on the night, losing 3-1. Liam Blackburn again on the scoresheet.

Year 8 were on the receiving end of a heavy defeat, with plenty of training required before the next fixture. However, enthusiasm and effort were admirable in some adverse weather conditions.

Year 9 put in the display of the week with an outstanding 4-3 victory. This was a real team performance with some outstanding football being played. Liam Bragg stole the show with two technically brilliant strikes from 20 yards, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance. Goals from Luke Gamble and Jack Stubbings sealed the victory.

We now await final group standings to see if Year 7 and 9 progress to the next round.

Thank you to all of the players who have represented the school during this half term.
