There were widespread celebrations at school this August, where, once again, results were the best ever. Well done to our fabulous students and their talented, hard-working teachers and support staff!
There were many excellent individual results. This year the most outstanding results came from the boys. Will Judge, Daniel Gough and Stephen Rochford-Morris all managed to juggle demanding roles with the school council and a busy extra-curricular music schedule, yet still produce a string of A and A* grades. Bartosz Bartmaski came to the school with only basic English, but also achieved some of the highest scores.
Other pupils who overcame barriers to achieve excellent results were Darryl Cox, who took the exams a year late, having spent his final year in hospital, Casey-Leigh Shard, who missed large sections of her schooling while training and competing with the Great Britain Special Olympics Team, scored highly, and Martin Brown, who overcame great difficulties to produce a string of A* grades. As well as achieving academic success, Martin has also just won the Under 16 British Chess Championship!
Cambridge success!
Congratulations also go to all our Priestley students who achieved A level success this summer and are now heading off to university. Joe Bibby, Martin Jones and Ruth Quinn all achieved a string of top grades, and Thomas Harman is off to Cambridge with four As.
