A message from our Headteacher, 18th March 2020 at 9.30pm:

Good Evening

I know you will have seen the news regarding schools closing and this must be very worrying for you all, especially on top of the concern of Coronavirus.

The Boteler Family has been working hard behind the scenes to keep school running as normal as possible and to help and support parents/carers at this difficult time. We have been proactive with the Independent Learning apps and platforms so students can still be educated at home.

The Government announced that schools will be open for vulnerable students and students of key workers. What we don’t know as yet is what that looks like or how it will work. I am working very hard on this and as soon as I have more clarity I will contact you.

I really do feel for our Year 11 students who have been working tirelessly and for them to have their examinations cancelled is devastating. Again as soon as I have more information regarding if or how they will be awarded an ‘outcome’ I will let you know.

Students in receipt of free schools meals will be receiving vouchers from us for food and we are in the process of setting this up. All students will hopefully be able to access a free breakfast from the Food Bank as part of our Big Breakfast project too. We will continue work hard with our local community to ensure we do all we can to help and support our vulnerable families.

The road ahead will be challenging but we will meet those challenges head on and deal with them to the best of our abilities. We will help and support you as much as we can with your questions and worries. We may not have all the answers but we will try to find them out for you.

Please look out for texts with updates and check the website, as that is where I will post the information.

School is fully open for the next two days and please continue to follow all the guidance regarding self – isolation.

The Boteler Family will get through this because we are strong, resilient and have faith. We must continue to work together and support each other.

You and your children are the priority and please stay safe and take care because that is what matters the most.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Beverley Scott-Herron
Headteacher
