Sunny Weather
As the weather has changed so has the Boiler Room!! Over the last couple of weeks we've taken advantage of the lovely weather and run some games on the field including Non Stop Cricket, Rounders and Kick Ball.

We never know what we're gonna play we just make it up as we go but its always a laugh!!

Special mention to Mr Antrobus and the Science Teachers who saw us playing cricket and came down for a giggle it also gave Mr A the opportunity to destroy a rather big headed Michael Roberts who boasted that no one could beat his score with a bat!!! Unlucky Mike but Mr A has been there before!! lol

DJ & MCing workshops
Local DJ Paul has been coming in over the last couple of weeks running DJ Workshops and giving opportunities to pupils who have never touched decks before and those who are a little more experienced to make some samples and learn a more about being a DJ.

One session turned into a full on war of words as the mics were passed round and MCing got into full flow!!!

Look out in the future for more opportunites to DJ and MC at the Boiler Room

One Stop Shop

On the 18th of March The Boiler Room held its first One Stop Shop style marketplace event.  With the amount of pupils coming along it was seen as a perfect location and opportunity to have outside organisations and agencies who want to promote their important messages to teenagers to come in.  Over 15 organisations including Community Support Police, Stop Smoking, Dental Health, Libraries, Warrington Youth Services, Phaze and even the School Governors attended and were thrilled at the volume of pupils who turned up and showed an interest in the information!  The abundance of freebies helped to get pupils through the doors but once in there pupils soon found out and took away some powerful and important information.  By 4pm more than 150 pupils had attended, most walking away with handfuls of literature and all manner of goodies but more importantly they had managed to link up with people that were there to help them get through and deal with some difficult issues and show that ‘Our School (really does) Care’

Gamer Olympics
The competition hots up after 2 events with three people making an early break for the lead.
