Community Christmas Party 2015

On Tuesday 8th December Sir Thomas Boteler Church of England High School hosted the annual Community Christmas party. Over 90 residents from the local area attended and Deputy Mayor Cllr Faisal Rashid and Mrs Rashid, Mrs Barbara Dutton, School Advisor, Mr Brian Padgett, Diocesan Advisor and Mr John Taylor, Boteler Trustee were special guests. Four teachers from Červený Kostelec Primary School in the Czech Republic, who were in school as part of a Warrington wide exchange visit, joined in the festivities and even had a go at bingo with the Deputy Mayor who even won a prize!

Food and drinks were prepared and served by Boteler’s Year 10 Food Technology students with the assistance of some staff. Boteler’s choir, The Crunchie Harmonies entertained all by singing festive song. Year 9 students took the opportunity to share what they had learned through the ambassador project on ‘growth mindset’ by demonstrating ‘cup stacking’ and leading an amazing sing-a-long of festive songs with everyone joining in. The highlight of the day was bingo with the numbers being called by PCSO Tony Spruce. He was very funny although the general opinion was that he shouldn’t give up his day job! As the event drew to a close, Father Christmas arrived to present a home-made gift of Christmas biscuits to all of the guests.

Mrs Isherwood celebrated her Honorary Freewoman Award with Deputy Mayor Cllr Faisal Rashid at our Community Christmas Party. Mrs Isherwood had received the award the night before from the Warrington Mayor Cllr Geoff Settle.

Our guests could not praise the staff and students enough and one guest, Mrs Parker, said ‘it was amazing, the food and entertainment was great and nothing was too much trouble. The students were very polite’. Several even said it was the best party yet and wanted to put their names down for next year!
